Russian Julija Tchepalova will miss the entire season due to pregnancy.
The Russian team will be greatly reduced this season. Julija Tchepalova is pregnant and will not compete in this season’s World Cup.
– That’s correct. She will not race, says FIS chief of cross country Jurg Capol.
The Russian team will be further reduced due to the fact that Larissa Kurkina and Natalia Baranova also will not race this winter.
However there is now a new hope for the Russians. Their young sprinter Natalia Matveeva finished second place, behind just Marit Bjorgen, in the Dusseldorf Individual sprint on Saturday.
