Fischer Success on the SuperTour Circuit

FasterSkierDecember 20, 2006

With US Nationals coming up in less than 2 weeks, Fischer athletes have positioned themselves as the odds on favorites to take home hardware at the 2007 US Cross Country Nationals in Houghton, MI.

Last weekend at the final SuperTour stop before Nationals, athletes using Fischer skis were on the podium 7 times, taking over 50% of the medals. Snow conditions were very soft both days with Soldier Hollow receiving almost 2 feet of new snow over the weekend. With these soft conditions, Fischer skis performed flawlessly in both the skate distance and classic sprint days. In fact, Fischer athletes swept the podium in the Men’s Classic sprint on Sunday.

Previously in Sun Valley, Fischer athletes took home 9 top-3 positions, again taking 50% of the possible podium spots. With hard pack conditions for the classic races, Fischer skis provided bomb-proof kick with amazing glide to sweep the Men’s Classic 10k.

Two different race weekends, completely different snow conditions, but one thing remains the same, Fischer athletes on the podium.

Fischer athletes have given us great feedback on our skis, especially the new Carbonlite ski. FSx athletes have used the Carbonlite almost exclusively this year. With its responsive kick and world cup proven structuring and pre-waxing, this ski has come out of the packaging ready to be raced. Not only fast, the Carbonlite is also proving to be the most responsive and stable ski that Fischer has ever produced. U.S. ski team member Kikkan Randall used the Carbonlite in her career best Classic result on the World Cup, taking 12th in the Kuusamo Classic sprint.

Look for more updates during US Nationals week, January 3rd-7th, or come up to Houghton and watch a great week of racing along with seeing members of the U.S. ski team competing before returning to Europe and then the World Championships in Japan.
