The Sportsminister of the Czech Republic is demanding that Katerina Neumannova take over as the new president for the 2009 Liberec, World Championships.

10 out of 16 resigned

The former World Championship president, Roman Kumpost, responded by sending out a press-release where he states that he does not understand why he was fired. 10 out of the 16 employees in the World Championship organization have now resigned from their positions, and the questions is now whether the organizers will be able to put on World Cup and pre-World events planned for this winter.

– I can confirm that 10 out of the 16 in the on the World Championship organization staff have resigned. They have been with president Roman Kumpost throughout the last years preparations and don’t feel that this has been handled correctly, says FIS race director Jürg Capol.

Katerina Neumannova has accepted the role as new president for the event, but has no previous experience. She is in the process of putting together a new staff.

Believes that pre-Worlds will take place as planned

– It’s possible that some of the ten will come back, but it’s hard to say. The organization had a meeting two days ago, but there is still some turbulence and it will probably take another 4-5 weeks before we know who will be a part of the new group. Neumannova might need a co-manager to help her, says Jürg Capol.

– I believe that this year’s pre-World will take place as planned. They should be back at full capacity in two months, he concluded.
