The Catamount Trail Association (CTA) will host the first annual Catamount Trail Hill Climb Challenge at Bolton Valley Resort on Sunday, September 23, 2007. The 7km uphill challenge is open to mountain bikers, runners and hikers of all abilities and ages. The event will begin at 11:00 on the Bolton Valley access road for 1/4 mile before linking into the Catamount Trail. Participants will climb 1880 vertical feet along moderate to steep terrain to the summit of the Wilderness chairlift. The course follows the Catamount Trail ski trail as it overlaps the Broadway cross country trail and continues up to one of the best views in the East.

Merchandise will be awarded to the top three finishers for gender and age group in both running and mountain biking. Technical wear t-shirts will be included in the registration for the first 300 entrants. The three person Team Event must have at least one female and will be calculated by combining the three overall times. Awards will be presented following the event along with a BBQ.

Proceeds of the race will benefit the Catamount Trail Association, a non-profit organization that maintains and manages the longest ski trail in North America. The trail measures 300 miles – the entire length of Vermont on skis. Additional support for the race is being donated by Bolton Valley Resort, Fleischer Jacobs Group, Darn Tough Vermont, Skirack and Yankee Lanes.

Race entry forms available on line: www.catamounttrail.org or by calling 802-864-5794.
