Italian Stalwart Marianna Longa Retires

Marianna Longa, a mainstay on the Italian Women's relay team, announced her retirementlast week. Longa had a successful return last season after a year off to have a baby. She raced in two Olympics, and had her best results in 2006/2007, cracking the top ten five times last year in individual World Cup races.

She is 28 years old.
