I arrived Sunday night. I skied in the morning on the upper trails at
SilverStar and in the afternoon on Sovereign Lake trails. There's
enough snow at both, and it's skiing on all the normal trails. Coverage
is quite good. I'm still using rock skis, but many local skiers are on
good skis.
Grooming is more extensive and simply better at Sovereign Lake, but
there's nothing to complain about at either location (they're about 5km
apart, connected by ski trails, on the same mountain).
Temps today were in the upper teens and low 20's (-7C at 3p.m. this
afternoon). Snow is fine cold snow. Humidity today was low and the snow
was drying out during the day (getting squeaky).
It's hardwax classic skiing, and the skating is very good.
