Compton Strong in Nor-Am Victory

Vernon, BC – Caitlin Compton (CXC Elite) won her second consecutive skate Nor-Am, skiing away from the field for a 33 second victory in the Women's 15km Mass start event. Compton, who returned to cross-country after a year on the biathlon circuit has started her season on a strong note. She bested Melaine Theriault (CAN) by 17 seconds last week in the 5km individual start Nor-Am and was fourth in the West Yellowstone SuperTour 10km freestyle.

Brittany Webster (CAN) finished second, outsprinting Milaine Theriault (CAN). Theriault, of St. Quentin, N.B., a three-time Olympian, who has not competed on the World Cup circuit for the last two years, won her third medal in as many races on Nor-Am circuit.

Liz Stephen (USST) finished fourth, two seconds behind Theriault. She was followed six seconds later by US Ski Team teammate Taz Mannix (APUNSC).
