Boulder Nordic Sport Hires Zach and Amy Caldwell

Zach and Amy Caldwell have joined Boulder Nordic Sport (BNS) as Technical Director and Business Manager.  The Caldwells bring extensive experience and knowledge in the cross-country ski industry to their work at BNS headquarters in Boulder, CO.  Zach will continue his work developing stone grinds and ski-selection processes while directing Ski Service and Technical Operations.  Amy will perform Business Management duties while assisting in the development of BNS’s Camps, Coaching and Women’s Programs.  The couple move from Squamish, BC where Ms. Caldwell was Head Coach of the Callaghan Valley Training Centre and Mr. Caldwell was conducting a testing and development program for the US Ski Team at the Olympic venue for two years.

Zach folds his previous business, Caldwell Sport Specialties into BNS operations. He commented, “This arrangement has been inevitable since the start of our collaboration in 2006. Nathan has taken the half-formed vision that I started with and shown everybody what is possible when you set out to provide the very best ski service available to the public. Under the BNS umbrella I can continue to pursue product development and innovative ideas the way I have in my Olympic venue work with the US Ski Team in the past two years. This is a dream come true for me – to pursue my trade at the highest levels. For BNS customers it means access to products and techniques carried directly from World Cup and Olympic level competition.

BNS owner Nathan Schultz commented, “Zach has been a driving force behind BNS, and without his knowledge and assistance, none of this would have been possible.  Amy’s knowledge of skiing, coaching and the business are incredibly valuable. Handing her many of the business responsibilities will free me to develop programs and ideas we have not had the time and resources to act upon in the past. Zach will continue his work with the US Ski Team. In addition to grinding US Ski Team skis for regular World Cup competition at BNS this fall, Zach will be back in Canada with his grinder for more testing and for the Olympics this winter.  Schultz will also be working at the Olympics with the US Ski Team as a wax and structure tech.
