Registration is now open for the first European Ski Marathon Championships.  The committee of the European Ski Marathon Association has decided to make this February 14, 2010, the premiere of what they plan on making an annual event.

The Championship will combine the scores of two marathons, one skate and one classic.  The first Marathon will be the Tiroler Koasalauf, a 50km skate at St Johann in Tirol, Austria.   The second marathon will be the 42 km classic Skadi Loppet in Germany on March 21.

Racers will be seeded in waves based on FIS points for distance races they have scored in the past two years.

Awards will be divided by age and gender categories.

There will also be a team competition which will combine the scores of three team members.
