After three races, Garrott Kuzzy (USST/CXC Team Vertical Limit) and Dasha Gaiazova (CNT) are the early leaders of the 2010 SuperTour.
With two victories and a 2nd, Kuzzy has already opened up a 34 point gap on the field. Friday’s 15km skate winner Leif Zimmerman (BSF/Madshus) is second, closely followed by Canadian National Team members Drew Goldsack and Sean Crooks. Chris Cook (Steinbock Racing) is 5th.
On the women’s side, Gaiazova holds a narrow three point lead on APU’s Holly Brooks. Gaiazova ended the first week of racing with a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Brooks nearly matched with a 1st, 2nd, and 4th.
Madeleine Williams (Alberta World Cup Academy) is third, Laura Valaas (APU) 4th, and Shayla Swanson (CNT) 5th.
The leaders of the USSA SuperTour after the fall series (on December 7th) will receive entry into the January World Cups outside of the US quota. Two more race remain before that date – a freestyle sprint, and a 10/15km classic, this weekend in Bozeman, Montana.
