Rossignol Introduces New X-ium Nordic Package

Rossignol Nordic X-ium Skate Package: Stability, Glide, Efficiency and Comfort Proven by World Cup Victories

Rossignol is excited to introduce the new X-ium Package, including the X-ium Skating WCS NIS ski, X-ium WC Skate boot, R4 Skate NIS bindings, and the Oneway DS 10 Titanium pole. The stability, glide, efficiency and comfort of the X-ium package was proven by our athletes results last year in World Cups and World Championships. Pietro Piller Cottrer won the World Cup Distance Overall 2009 and AK Saarinen won the most medals at the 2009 Nordic World Championships.

The X-ium WC Skating NIS is lightweight due to the Nomex Honeycomb core, which is full of air and has a specific design to resist to pressure and keep the original shape of the ski.  Some of the topsheet material was removed from the tip offering a much better swing weight. The wider tip (44-43-43mm), called cobra sidecut, gives the ski more stability during push off. The ski has a 3D full carbon laminate which provides more torsional rigidity, allowing the skier to not loose power during push off.

The X-ium WC Skate boot comes in both regular and low volume fit providing an easy, great fit for all foot shapes and sizes. Because of the Cockpit Control Concept, PU internal reinforcement and asymmetrical under the arch of the foot, the boot transfers energy efficiently, making the skier faster and more precise. The Thermo Fit liner (EVA) allows the liner to be molded for a great fit.

Rossignol’s Nordic Integrated System on the R4 Skate NIS binding is a perfect coupling of ski with binding plate. The wide platform offers more contact between the outsole and the bindings, which means better control and stability. The double guiding groove is a perfect couple with the boot sole creating more contact during the skating phase or during the classic kick. The axis is set 10 mm back for better energy transfer.

Oneway’s DS 10 Titanium pole is 100% Carbon reinforced with titanium making the pole stiff and ultra light weight. The rabbit strap allows for twice the adjustment of a regular strap and the cork grip provides warmth, comfort and anti-slip grip.
