Truckee, California – Adam Swank and Beth Reid won the 34th annual Great Race – a 30km freestyle race from Tahoe City to Truckee, California.
Swank edged out Truckee resident and Far West Nordic skier Ian Case by 16 seconds. Philip Violett was just under three minutes back in third.
Swank completed the race in a time of 1:11:30.
Reid was an impressive 12th overall while winning the women’s race by just eight seconds over Katerina Nash. Catherine Howard took 3rd, six minutes back.
Over 1,000 skiers participated in the event under sunny skies.
