NORWAY – Bjoern Daehlie is back, this time as the architect of a new sprint cup that will take place in the spring, and includes city center circuits in Trondheim (NOR), Oestersund (SWE) and Aare (SWE).
“We are hoping to create a fun season wrap series where we bring together the top sprinter racers in the world for a top notch race series with a decent prize purse,” Daehlie says to the Swedish web site www.langd.se.
Daehlie, who is one of the main brains behind the new race series, knows what racers like. And he is right on the money. Swedish sprinter Peter Larsson welcomes the race series.
“Since I have just finished my career, I know racers miss these kinds of events. When the World Cup is over, you still feel like you have a some more racing to do before the season is over, and it’s fun to do that while socializing with other racers,” Larsson, the king of Duesseldorf, says. Larsson is also a part of the design committee behind the new sprint cup.
