The Final Stage of the FIS Tour de Ski 2010/11, the infamous Alpe Cermis in Val di Fiemme (ITA) will be very special this time around. Traditionally, the Final Climb features the overall decision in one of the season’s main highlight events in Cross-Country Skiing. This year, a popular race for a limited number of starters will be organized that will follow the same course as the stars including Petter Northug, Charlotte Kalla, Lukas Bauer and company race the same day. This popular race will provide a great opportunity to enjoy the emotional Final Climb live among 20’000 spectators, just a few minutes before the great World Cup champions race it.

The popular Final Climb race will be called “Rampa con i campioni” and it starts on Sunday, 9th January 2011, at 10 am with the number of participants limited to only 200 skiers. The organizing committee of Val di Fiemme will soon announce the details of entry and other logistical details. For further information make sure to frequent fiscrosscountry.com or fiemme2013.com. I’m surprised that the “Rampa con i campioni” guys and girls get to go before the big guns—-I would think that 200 extra skiers are going to leave the tracks pretty chewed up—just a thought??!!
