“We made a few prototypes last winter,” Roger Mohaugen explains, racing manager for Fischer in Norway.
“The poles are really convenient, particularly for biathlon and pursuit races,” Mohaugen says to Langrenn.com. “Hans Martin Gjerdrem won the 20K biathlon race last winter with these poles,” he adds.
Mohaugen explains that the poles are developed at Fischer’s facilities in Austria, but that the factory engineers also have taken input from Norwegian racers in the process. For the upcoming season, the poles will be available for retail sales.
“The poles have been very well received, and we’ve experienced considerable interest,” Mohaugen concludes. See the demo video here.
