The new Holmenkollen Arena which includes the spectacular new Holmenkollen ski jump and the naturally beautiful Midtstuen hill are just some of the reasons pointing to a huge spectator turnout during the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 at Oslo’s Holmenkollen this winter. Ticket sales started Wednesday, 1st September 2010.
With 21 events over 11 days (24th February-6th March), the WSC program is tightly packed. Two evening ski jumping competitions, many attractive weekday afternoon events and reduced prices for children make tickets accessible and attractive to the public.
“We want to create a major celebration. We also want to show the ski world that we are a winter-happy nation full of supportive spectators. There is already tremendous interest in the tickets so we think that they are going to be snapped up quickly,” says Åsne Havnelid, CEO of Oslo 2011.
“The Holmenkollen National Arena is the world’s most modern ski facility. The short distances between the various competition sties at Holmenkollen also make the facility and our WSC event unique. We hope the public uses the opportunity to see several ski events on the same day,” concludes Havnelid.
