Canadian Thanksgiving, Masters World Cup and Reflective Vests: Silver Star Gets Ready for Snow

FasterSkierOctober 13, 2010

Happy Thanksgiving!

Feeling stuffed of turkey, most Canadians are having a hard time staying awake after the long weekend.  Thanksgiving means the snow is only weeks away at Silver Star. Actually, I have skied at Silver Star on Thanksgiving many times but this year October has been beautiful.

It’s only 25 days to Nordic opening at Silver Star. We are targeting November 6, 2010 for first day on the trails maybe sooner snow pending.

The xc camps are on track for a record year so let us know if you would like to attend as I am planning the coaching line-up.

All ability levels are welcome!  We will ensure you are with people of similar ability and fitness.

We posted 2 new videos from Global TV that were done pre and post Olympics! Check out what Norway has to say about Silver Star www.xccamps.ca

Sparkling Hill Masters World Cup

March 3-11, 2011 will make history at Silver Star and Sovereign Lake, with 1200 competitors from around the World going head to head on the trails.

Many of the XC Camp coaches have competed in the Masters World Cup and you can gain insider tips by signing up for the specific Silver Star xc camp www.xccamps.ca geared for people planning to compete in this international event.

Training Tip

We are in prime Roller Skiing season and I would like to remind everyone to play it safe. Wear a reflective vest, helmet, gloves and if you are looking at buying roller skis, I recommend V2 roller skis as I believe they are the safest roller skis on the market.  All my roller skis have speed reducers so I can control speed on a descent.  The quality of V2 is second to none, with the best snow feeling possible.  The new carbon/graphite roller skis are amazing.

Have FUN!
