Nordic Racers Win with Greater Precision and Optimum Power Transfer

AUBURN, N.H. — Fischer Skis announced today that the new RCS Carbonlite Skating Race Boot is now available at retail locations nationwide. Featuring several new Fischer innovations, the boot ensures a perfect fit to deliver greater precision and optimum power transfer. The Fischer boot, which won more medals at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Games than any other, is designed to deliver breakthrough performance to Nordic racers.

“The combination of impressive technical features and exceptionally comfortable fit of the RCS Carbonlite Skating Race boot give an edge to my racing,” said Marit Bjørgen, Norwegian National Team and 2010 Triple Olympic Champion. “This boot proved itself a winner for me in 2010, and now we are excited to bring this boot and its many new technologies to racers everywhere.”

The RCS Carbonlite Skating Race boot features Fischer’s new Torsion Control System that combines a micro-adjustable external instep strap with a diagonally-running internal strap. The straps work in conjunction to provide a notably higher torsional resistance that prevents the boot from twisting and increases power transfer to the ski during the kick phase. The Torsion Control System also allows the skier to fine-tune the boot’s fit for optimal comfort.

The boot also features Fischer’s innovative new Frame Technology for progressive foot support. This seamless, waterproof grid of technical polyurethane is injected directly onto the outer boot to provide the exact combination of support and control. The unique injection process also prevents premature breakdown and enhances the functional life of the boot.

The RCS Carbonlite Skating Race boot features Fischer’s revolutionary new World Cup Carbon Cuff to provide outstanding lateral stability with full freedom of fore and aft movement. The anatomically designed cuff is embedded in a soft EVA layer which matches the shape of the upper ankle. The cuff’s high-quality material ensures the boot’s weight is kept remarkably low.

Finally, the RCS Carbonlite Skating Race boot features Fischer’s unique Snake Lacing technology.  The Double Pull System combined with a parallel lace pattern ensures even pressure distribution and efficient adjustment to the longitudinal arch of the foot for superior comfort and close fit.

The RCS Carbonlite Skating Race Boot is available for purchase through Fischer retailers nationally and for demo at select retail locations hosting Fischer Carbonlite Demo Centers.
