WINTER IS COMING SOON!

Hello Friend skiers!

Winter is upon us and we are extremely pleased to announce that the first snowflakes have already fallen on Gatineau. Therefore, it is the the perfect time to prepare for the biggest cross-country event in Canada: the GATINEAU LOPPET.

Many surprises and major news will be at the front of the 35th edition of the event, which will be held from February 15th to 17th 2013 in the Gatineau Park. We are looking forward to seeing you on our paths.

– Yan Michaud, president of the Gatineau Loppet

New challenges: two classic courses of 38km and 55km

For this anniversary year, two new linear 38 km and 55 km classic style courses will link Lake Philippe to Mont-Bleu High School in Gatineau. The president of the Gatineau Loppet, Mr. Yan Michaud, is “extremely pleased to offer this 35th anniversary gift for ski lovers in the region and abroad.” These new courses were tested last winter by Mr. Richard Weber, Canadian Explorer and cross-country ski master. He was thrilled by the quality of the courses and strongly encourages skiers to try them in 2013.

Please note that our regular races of 5 and 20 km classic style and 2, 10, 27 and 51 km freestyle will be scheduled from Mont-Bleu High School, as per previous years.

A new sanction

Gatineau Loppet is pleased to announce that the wave A of the 55 km classic will be sanctioned by Cross Country Canada, allowing Canadian and international long distance skiers to collect points for the Canadian Points List.
