We’ll be open on our ~600m ribbon of snow tomorrow morning! The ribbon is not presently tracked, but is over a foot deep of the COC snowmaker’s finest.
Despite some warm days and downpours, we’ve enjoyed some good snowmaking weather in the past week. Current forecasts have us in good shape to blow a significant amount of snow in the coming week or so. Our goal is to have our traditional early season loop extended through the woods by the beginning of the week. The loop will be busy with groups and teams throughout Thanksgiving week and beyond as we have a number of upcoming events like the Craftsbury Opener, Demo Days and the early season Masters’ Camp.
While we’re eager for everyone to come join us in the coming days, we urge skiers to use caution: we are making more snow, pushing out more snow, and building the new TC throughout the day tomorrow – there’s going to be a lot going on, so keep your eyes open exercise caution please. Should the Touring Center not be open, please travel another 250m down the road to the front office where we’ll be happy to help you.
Can’t make tomorrow? Don’t worry, here’s just a few reasons for you to make the trip to Craftsbury in the coming weeks:
Craftsbury Opener: December 1. 5/10k Freestyle, interval start, w/BKL race.
Demo Day: December 8. The ski industry gathers in Craftsbury to offer skiers great demo equipment opportunities. Try the latest gear!
Winter Triathlon #1: December 15. Challenge yourself with this three-way endurance test!
Masters Camp: December 12-15. Not a race, but a fantastic way to hone your skills and fitness with a long weekend of instruction.
Or you can really soak up the experience of early season snow as part of Thanksgiving Training week, with full lodging and meals available to teams and clubs looking for early season training opportunities on snow with great cross-training amenities too. As always, as you plan your visits to the NEK be sure to consult the current trail conditions via our snow report, Facebook and Twitter stream.
Last year we had nearly 160 days of skiing at Craftsbury – how long can we go this year? How many of those days will you make? Start your season tally tomorrow!
