If you’re wondering who will be on the start line for the U.S. and Canadian teams at this week’s IBU World Cup in Canmore, Alberta, we’ve got answers:
For Canada, the host, it’s a lineup of five men and five women:
- Macx Davies
- Scott Gow
- Christian Gow
- Brendan Green
- Nathan Smith
- Rosanna Crawford
- Megan Tandy
- Julia Ransom
- Sarah Beaudry
- Zina Kocher
For the U.S., five men and five women were selected to compete in Canmore, but only eight of them opted to start, with Sean Doherty* and Clare Egan** choosing to train instead:
- Lowell Bailey
- Tim Burke
- Leif Nordgren
- Max Durtschi
- Susan Dunklee
- Annelies Cook
- Hannah Dreissigacker
- Joanne Reid
*Doherty is coming off three podiums in as many races at IBU Junior World Championships in Romania and will recover at home in Center Conway, N.H., before competing at the following World Cup (World Cup 8) next week in Presque Isle, Maine.
**Egan was selected based on her World Cup ranking, but “has opted to forego World Cup 7 in favor of more intense preparation for World Championships later this season,” according to US Biathlon Chief of Sport Bernd Eisenbichler.
