The World Cup Dreams Foundation is thrilled to announce its November Grant recipients. After receiving more than 150 applications from athletes all over the country from athletes competing in alpine, cross-country, snowboarding, freestyle, freeskiing, nordic combined and ski jumping we have chosen 16 grant recipients, who will each receive a grant for $1,500 to help offset the costs of training and competing.
In the fall of 2021, WCD allocated over $200,000 in direct athlete funding. World Cup Dreams decided to open a second round of grants in November, totalling $24,000 in additional funding to help support up and coming athletes from a wide variety of backgrounds.
“We were impressed by the range of athletes that applied. It speaks to our reach in the world of snowsports and skiing and also to the great need in the community for financial support. We want to help give athletes and families that extra boost to keep at it because as we all know keeping athletes involved is the only way to move them up the pipeline,” Tommy Biesemeyer, Executive Director of World Cup Dreams said.
In the spring of 2021, WCD and The T2 Foundation merged to form a single organization and take on the task of funding athletes who are striving to be the best in the world. WCD exists to help keep the best athletes in the game – not just the best athletes who have the means to pursue their dreams.
