Snow Australia Seeks Full-Time Coach for National Training Centre

Snow Australia is seeking a full-time cross country skiing coach for the National Training Centre at Falls Creek during the Australian winter. The coach will primarily be responsible for coordinating and leading on-snow training throughout the season, including for elite and sub-elite athletes, with key aims of developing technical and athletic abilities and fostering a vibrant daily training environment.

Falls Creek is Australia’s predominant ski resort for cross country skiing, with over 50km of trails groomed during the winter. Club, state and national competitions are held each year from July to September, with Australia’s Worldloppet race the Kangaroo Hoppettaking place annually on the 4th Saturday in August. Snow Australia is the national body for skiing and snowboarding in Australia, managing athlete pathways in alpine skiing, cross country skiing, freestyle skiing and snowboarding.

The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, relevant coaching experience, sound ski training knowledge and strong technical skills. Ideally the position will commence in mid-June and extend through to the end of September, however there is some room for negotiation. The position will require regular weekend work and a limited amount of travel. There may also be potential for ongoing coaching work during the northern hemisphere winter, supporting athletes preparing for and competing in international events.
