Middlebury Back On Top In EISA Action

For the fourth time in five weeks the Middlebury College ski teams have combined to win a carnival. This time is was the Williams Carnival as the Panthers (663), topped Vermont (646), Dartmouth (615) and UNH (520).

In the women's 10K, Kate Underwood from UNH came in first (29:46.1). Anna McCloon from HArvard was in second place (29:52.4). Middlebury took third, fourth and fifth places by skiers Kate Newick (29:55.9), Claire Anderson (30:11.7) and Kate Whitcomb (30.13.6).

In the men's 10K UVM took the first, third and fourth places. Lowell Bailey in first (24:56.3), Ethan Foster in third (25:23.3) and Ryan Foster in fourth (25:56.5). Middlebury's Garrott Kuzzy came in second place (25:16.0). In fifth was Angus McCusker from Saint Lawrence (26:08.5).

In the women's sprint relays Middlebury's team of Kate Whitcomb, Kate Newick and Claire Anderson took first place in 38:09.5.

UNH teammates Margaret Maher, Eeva Pregitzer and Kate Underwood were in second (39:10.4). Dartmouth women took the third spot. Carolyn Treacy, Sara Studebaker and Alison Crocker finished behind UNH (39:45.1).

In the men's relays, the team standings were the same with Middlebury's team taking the first spot. Colin Rodgers, Beau Baldock and Garrott Kuzzy put Middlebury in the top (33:33.2). UVM teammates Ryan Foster, Ethan Foster and Bailey Lowell were in second place (34:11.6). Dartmouth's men, Sam Naney, Mike Sinnott and Andy Hunter finished in third (34:12.5).
