USCSA Collegiate Skiing Results

The United States Collegiate Skiing Association (USCSA) National Championships are underway at Snow Mountain Ranch, Colorado. Collegiate teams from across the country have gathered to contest this week-long championship.

The 1.5k sprint race was held on Tuesday (3/6/07). The woman’s race was lead by Meagan Toussaint from University of Maine, Presque Isle, followed by Shaina Short from St. Olaf College and Erin Hammer from University of Wyoming. In team scoring, the University of Wyoming women won the sprint, and St. Olaf College and University of Maine, Presque Isle took second and third place, respectively.

The men’s sprint was won by Matt Delaney of Clarkson University by inches over Bjorn Bakken of University of Maine, Presque Isle. John Erickson of Cornell University also podiumed. The Clarkson University men won the sprint race, Cornell University and University of Wyoming took second and third place, respectively.

The 15k freestyle mass start was held on Wednesday (3/7/07). The woman’s race was again lead by Meagan Toussaint from University of Maine, Presque Isle, racking up her second National Title in as many days. Erin Hammer of University of Wyoming had another great day, finishing second, followed by teammate Kelsie Speiser. In team scoring, the University of Wyoming once again took the top podium step, Clarkson University and St. Olaf College took second and third place, respectively.

The men’s 15k freestyle race was won by John ‘Wildman’ Erickson from Cornell University. Second and third place went to Bjorn Bakken from University of Maine, Presque Isle and Josh Peterson from University of Wyoming, respectively. The Cornell University men’s team won the day, followed by University of Wyoming and St. Olaf College.
