The last two weeks in Bend helped me jump-start my volume training for the season. We spent 2-3 hours skiing at Mt. Bachelor in the morning and did a dryland workout in the afternoon. My total volume was more than I had done since last fall. It was good to get back into the training schedule, despite the less than desirable weather. We experienced some snow the first few days, until it turned to rain. Unfortunately, our 3 hour over-distance ski fell on the day where it poured ALL day! Bend is usually known for its sunny days, but that was not the case this time.
I returned to Sun Valley just in time to help with the Sun Valley half marathon. While I was a little jealous not to race in it, I had fun helping with the Kid’s Zone. There were several activities for kid’s including the bouncy castle, face painting, relay races, karaoke, and a kid’s running race. Here are several picture from the day’s event:
