Compton Wins Women's 10km Nor-Am in British Columbia

Sovereign Lakes, British Columbia – Caitlin Compton (CXC) skied to a 17 second victory over Milaine Theriault (CAN) in the women's 10km individual start freestyle Nor-Am. Compton, the defending US National Champion in the 5km Freestyle, opened up a 14 second lead over the first 5km. Theriault, on the comeback trail for the 2010 Olympics, was also second in Saturday's freestyle sprint.

Liz Stephen (USST) finished third, +40.7, and Brooke Gosling (CAN) fourth, +49.6.

Shayla Swanson (CAN) winner of the classic SuperTour in West Yellowstone finished fifth, and Brittany Webster (CAN) just edged Morgan Arritola (SVSEF/USST) by .3 seconds for 6th.

The winner of Saturday's sprint, Laura Valaas skied to an 8th place finish ahead of XC Oregon and Saab Salomon Factory Team athletes Kristina Strandberg and Evelyn Dong.

This race counts as a USSA National Ranking List event.
