Big Guns Lined Up For Dolomitenlauf

This year's edition of Austria's Dolomitenlauf will be held at the backup site of Obertilliach and will be 42 Km, instead of the usual 65 Km race in Lienz. But that hasn't stopped some big names from showing up for the worldloppet event.

Currently on the start list are: Michael Botwinow, AUT; Pietro Piller Cottrer, ITA; Silvio Fauner, ITA ; Gerhard Urain, AUT. Botwinow, a former Worldloppet Champion, will be trying to defend his home country's Worldloppet race from the Italians, who have come the short distance from Italy to compete. It is also interesting to see the USA duo of Dave and Christie Aschwande named at the top Worldloppet.com's list of top competitors.

The race will take place this Sunday and is the second northern hemisphere race of the season in the Worldloppet series. It is a freestyle race.

The first northern hemisphere Worldloppet of the season (the Kangaroo Hoppet takes place in August in Australia) and also the first FIS Marathon Cup race, the JIZERSKÁ PADESÁTKA took place in the Czech Republic last weekend.
