Crisp temperatures, brisk winds, and fresh snow made for some tough conditions during the Pepsi Challenge at Giants Ridge on Saturday morning. A near record crowd of over 500 skiers competed. John Bauer and Cory Wubbels dominated the 48K freestyle race, with Cory taking the victory as Bauer pulled out. Jan Guenther won the womens title over a very competitive field. In the 48K classical race, a lead pack of 6-8 skiers held together for much of the race before Michael Myers and a Norwegian skier put the hammer down, Myers crossing the line first. Skinnyski.com Race Team's Josie Nelson easily won the women's race. 23K freestyle winners were Ben Kremer and Sonne Nordgren.
