The Norwegian Men’s Head Coach Krister Sorgaard is expressing that the National team skiers are now starting a very important and decisive training period:
“Errors at this time of year can “burn†the whole season. Olympic and World Championship medals have been lost during the fall in previous years.â€
The Norwegian men’s team returned from an on-snow altitude camp in Stelvio/Livignio two weeks ago and is departing for altitude again on October 8th – this time for Val Senales. It’s especially important to do everything right in conjunction with altitude training.
“It’s common to feel good after returning from altitude and it’s important to adjust both volume and intensity. The skiers have detailed day-to-day programs and I consider this period in between the two altitude camps as the most risky period of the entire year. Not much time to change or adjust if you are on the wrong trackâ€
The sprinters are starting the Sprint World Cup in Dusseldorf on October 25th.
The first races in Norway are to be held in Beitostolen, November 14th. The all-round World Cup starts there (as well) the following weekend.
