WEST YELLOWSTONE, Mont. (Nov. 28) — Dave Chamberlain (Bethel, ME) outsprinted Chris Cook (Rhinelander, WI) over the final stretch Friday to win a 15K classic technique SuperTour race while Wendy Wagner (Park City, UT) won the women's 10K CL by more than a minute and a half.
With temperatures in the upper 20s, Chamberlain, a member of the last two world championships teams, was timed in 41:06.8 for the three-lap race with Cook second in 41:10.2. Justin Freeman (Andover, NH) took third in 41:17.7. Wagner won the women's two-loop race in 30:13.4 with Rebecca Dussault (Gunnison, CO) second in 31:56.9.

<p>Early morning, race day, Friday, the temperatures were already above those visited earlier this week. The first few strides on the track eased the mind, as the warmer temperatures (nearly 30+ Farenheit) had sped the snow up considerably. Tomorrow's forcasts are predicting similar…</p>
<p>Dave Chamberlain commenting on how the race unfolded said that, “It was good. I knew that I had great skis… that gave me quite a bit of confidence going in… I felt like I skied really well the first 5k, but with the altitude, I just dropped it down a notch and got my breathing back under me. The second lap I felt a little heavy, coming from sea level it was all I could do to stay relaxed and regain my breath.” “Luckily, I recieved word that I was tied with [Chris] Cook shortly before the finish. I was able to put in that little extra to edge him out.” The man known as Chambo was very pleased in stating, “It usually takes three or four races to get going fast again, so I wasn't surprised about how things went in Anchorage. But this feels really good. It feels good to win.”</p>
