This coming Friday, December 5th at 3:30 PM, members of the US National Cross-Country ski team will attempt to break the current 100 meter Cross-Country skiing World record.

A 100-meter flat section at the Soldier Hollow 2002 Olympic stadium will be used for the World record attempt. Wind control as well as official FIS homologated (certified) timing equipment will be used (provided by Summit Systems of Salt Lake City), including electronic start-gun, electronic photo-finish equipment and software accurate to 1/100 second.

The race will be officiated and certified by a FIS Technical Delegate, to ensure that all starting- and timing procedures are correct. The man-made snow at Soldier Hollow and the Olympic-standard grooming at the venue should contribute to a new World Record.
