Norway’s largest television station, NRK 1 will show live coverage from the Swedish Vasaloppet March 7th. So will Swedish television, SVT.

It’s expected that almost 1 million Norwegians and 2.5 million Swedes will watch the event on television. These numbers represents 20 to 25 % of the entire population in these countries.

This year has created by far the most interest ever for the Vasaloppet in Norway. There are huge expectations for national idols Anders and Jorgen Aukland to become the first Norwegian to win this classic 90-kilometer race since Ole Ellefsaeter did it in 1971.

Jorgen has placed second two years in a row. The Norwegian skiers will arrive in Mora, Sweden already next week to start the final preparations. This team is leaving nothing to “chance”, they will be ready.  Waiting for them is Svard and Tynell, the Champions.

(Get ready for the duel at OK Corral!)

The coverage will start 7.30 AM on March 7th. Norwegian television will alternate their coverage between that weekend’s regular World Cup races in Lahti, Finland
