The Arctic Circle Race is an annual race held on Greenland, and is normally a three-day race. This year, 50 meter/second winds blew down the participants’ camp, and caused the organized to shorten the race to a two-day event over 106 km. Olympic Champion Dæhlie still thought the race was his hardest ever.

– It was simply too hard for me. I tried to stay with the lead group, but couldn’t hang on. I have participated in hundreds of races, and think I’m qualified to make my statement. I have to admit that the race lives up to it’s reputation as the toughest. It was at least for me. It has been a great experience and fun to race here, the nature is fantastic. I’ll be back, perhaps not as a participant in the Artic Circle Race, but for sure to Greenland, says Bjrn Dæhlie.
The race victories went to Greenland and the Slettemark family — Wife and husband Uiloq og Øystein Slettemark won the race for their second time.
The only American male to enter, Topher Sabot, finished one place behind Dæhlie. The American women, Emily Chenel and Jennifer Mygatt, finished 2nd and 3rd in the women's race.
