Markus Bjornsson of Island and currently studying at a Norwegian ski gymnasium won the sprint prolog. The sprint course was only 150 meter long and the race was held in the classic style. Alsgaard met Bjornsson in the final and won.

Alsgaard also won the 15 kilometer classic with Olafur Arnason in second. Arnason lives and trains at Geilo, Norway. Another former Norwegian student, Jakob Jackobsson was third and Olafur Bjornsson was 4th. Olafur Arnason won the 10 kilometer skate race with Alsgaard in second.

Alsgaard also conducted clinics for young local skiers during the championship week. This was very popular.
