Unni Odegaard’s condition following the rollerski accident last Sunday has improved, but it’s still too early to say how serious her injuries are.
Unni was hit from behind while classic rollerskiing Sunday afternoon. A CT-scan has now been conducted and should soon give the answer to the seriousness of the injuries.
“Unni has shown great progress the last couple days, which makes us believe that the test will give us a positive answer,” says Unni’s dad, Roy Odegaard.
Unni’s doctors say that clear progress should be seen the next two weeks if the test is good. After that things might take longer time before she can function normally.
Unni was in coma from Sunday until Tuesday, but had not broken anything, despite the hard hit. The doctors said that this was exceptional knowing how hard the hit was. She has had one surgery following massive muscle crushing in her leg.
The accident happened on a straight road, she had the sun on her back and no on-coming traffic. The driver of the car that hit her has explained to the police that he didn’t see her.
Another driver saw the accident and has been in shock following the occurrence, and has still not been questioned by the police.
