SOLDA Ski Wax is making head waves in Europe following a busy spring and summer with extensive testing of Cross-Country and alpine waxes as well as water repellent products for sail boats, kayaks and canoes.
On-going glacier testing of several new products still in testing phases as well of products currently available to the public has been very successful. The test results have convinced many of Italy’s top Cross-Country skiers to become affiliated with SOLDA ahead of the upcoming 2005 World Championship year and the 2006 Olympics in, Turin Italy.
The spring started on a very positive note for SOLDA when they became the exclusive supplier of the leading Italian ski shop and rental chain, RENT & GO, a group with 320 shops located all over Italy, specialized in renting and selling both alpine and cross country skis.
The summer was even more exciting with the introduction of Acquablitz, a water repellent product for boats. The product was successfully used by medallists in both canoeing and sailing during the summer Olympics in Athens, Greece.
In August Solda became the official Ski wax for the upcoming 2005 FIS Alpine World Championship in Bormio, Lombardia.
Most interesting for Cross-Country skiers are of course SOLDA’S continuing efforts to develop glide waxes for all conditions. The F-Series of Fluor waxes, PowerJets, Fluor and HPO5 are all internationally recognized as top race waxes and this along with a summer devoted to fine tuning of existing formulas and testing of several new products have got Italy’s top skiers to pay attention.
Solda’s owner, chemist and product developer Manlio Solda, and marketing spokesman Luciano Andreatta said in a recent statement:
– We are overwhelmed by the interest for our products and the response to our glacier testing.
– We have been testing products all summer (from June 20 until now) in Val Senales, Stelvio, Tonale, Deux Alpes and Cervina. This has been a great opportunity to especially test waxes for wet snow. The feedback by the testers including national team skiers has been very good. We have received comments like “we want this (first), when can we get it and very impressive”.
– We are now going into the final stages of the practical testing and for that we need new, fresh snow. We hope it will arrive during the next month. We are also working on developing several ski-tuning products that might be put on the market this season.
