Norwegian Cross Country Team’s Goal For The Season: Best In The World

The Norwegian chief of cross country skiing, Bjornar Hanensmoen presented at a press conference this week at Beitostolen the overall goals for the Norwegian cross country teams.

 

– The goal is to be the best nation in the overall World Cup and at Worlds in Oberstdorf, said Hakensmoen

 

Norway was the best nation in last year’s World Cup

 

Hakensmoen further explained what has been done of preparations ahead of this season.

 

– We have focused on building on what has traditionally given us success the last 10-15 years. We have also prioritized the support system more than in the past.

 

Values are also created for the national teams.

 

The teams should strive to be positive, “on the offense”, goal oriented and pull together.

 

The main goal for the season is Worlds in Oberstdorf.

 

Hakensmoen explained that the team for Worlds will be decided no later that at the last day of the Norwegian nationals on January 30. There will be a maximum of 12 men and 12 women selected. All skiers selected for World will travel to Seiser Alm immediately after nationals.
