In Saturday's SuperTour sprint races in downtown Minneapolis, local resident Chad Giese (Subaru Factory Team) topped the SuperTour men's field ahead of recent SuperTour sprint winner Zack Simons (Atomic) and Kevin Hochtl, who had the fastest time in the preliminary qualification round. Maine Winter Sports Center athletes took care of the next two places, with Tim Weston finishing fourth in the A-final and Colin Rodgers winning the B-final for a fifth place overall. US Devolopment team members Leif Zimmerman and Chris Cook had to settle for sixth and seventh.

In the women's race, Swiss skier Karin Camenisch took home yet another first-place cash prize, impressively holding off National Sprint Champion Lindsay Williams from NMU. The Maine Winter Sports Center had another great showing in the women's race, with Kate Whitcomb making the podium in third, and Anna McLoon also making the A-final. Irene Eder won the B-final ahead of Brooke Baughman. Once again, a small but very competitive field of 14 women meant that every racer had the chance to ski in a quarterfinal against some of the very fastest skiers in the country.</p>
