North American top sprinter’s last chance to hit it big this season is Wednesday’s sprint World Cup finally at Goteborg’s soccer arena Nya Ullevi. The race can as usual be watched live online here on Fasterskier.com

Freestyle sprint at a soccer arena should be a new and exciting experiment for most of the World Cup skiers. Large crowds are expected to show up to watch Sweden’s new female sprint stars Emelie Ohrstig, Anna Dahlberg and Lina Andersson. Norwegian Marit Bjorgen has already claimed the overall title but Dahlberg could with a top result pass Finland’s Virpu Kuitunen for second place.

Norwegian Tor Arne Hetland has recaptured the Sprint King title but a number of skiers behind him are fighting for second and third overall. Hometown favorite is Thobias Fredriksson, currently in fourth overall.

The regular season finally is in Falun, Sweden this Saturday.

Pursuit is on the agenda.
