BSF will continue to offer and expand its program for senior athletes. The club is actively seeking athletes interested in being involved with the team. This year’s team included ten athletes with standouts Justin Easter, Shayla Swanson and Lief Zimmerman.

Skiers receive full time coaching including annual and monthly training plans with regular review from Dragan Danevski. Daily training opportunities are provided. During the race season, skiers will receive coaching, housing and transportation to selected events. These include the Super Tour, US Nationals, Spring Series and selected local races and marathons. The club under some circumstances may be able to help program members find housing and employment.

Senior Team members will be able to participate in the clubs training camps, including its late summer camp in Canmore, Canada, Early Fall training on the glacier in Ramsau, Austria and Thanksgiving Camp in West Yellowstone. Athlete evaluations are conducted in the Fall at the Sports Physiology Lab and each skier will receive a report on their strength, lactate threshold and VO2 Max.

Bozeman is a fabulous place to train. The mountains are nearby with a fabulous trail network. There are good roads for roller skiing and cycling. The snow is dependable and skiing is available 6-7 months out of the year. This year the team began skiing on October 27. The local community is very supportive of Nordic skiers and has welcomed the addition of our senior athletes. Montana State University is available to athletes interested in taking courses.
