The Swedish cross country star has not competed much since failing to succeed at the 2002 Olympics. He did however surprisingly win the pursuit at the 2003 Worlds, but has been anonymous and struggled with a number of problems after that. He now feels that things are starting to work his way again.

— I’m training about ten hours per week including three relatively easy interval sessions in order to build up my oxygen capacity, says Elofsson on his homepage.

He is still not where he needs to be, but he is still optimistic about the future.

– I just can’t push the gas pedal too hard. I need to show patience. It’s always easy to train too hard when you start to feel better. I have a long way to go, but I’m making progress, says Elofsson.
