Start gates will be used in the upcoming season’s World Cup sprint races.
False starts have been a problem in World Cup sprint races. FIS has therefore decided that start gates will be used in the upcoming season’s World Cup sprint races. The gates will most likely be similar to those used in downhill dual slalom events where the gates open automatically when the start gun goes off.
The gates will hopefully be used in the October Düsseldorf sprint opening races, reports the Swiss news agency TT.
