Stefania Belmondo (36) is in full training for a comeback at the Olympics, which will be on her home turf.

Belmondo retired from Nordic skiing after the World Championships in Val di Fiemme in 2003 and became a mother to two children. But now the Italian ski star, who has 20 Olympic and World Cup medals, has decided to compete for an Olympic medal once again.

She is quite familiar with the trails in Pragelato, where the Olympic Nordic venue will be held, since it is only a few kilometers from her home town.

-My preparations have gone as planned so far and I’m enjoying training seriously again. It also gives me a good balance to be a mother to two children, says Belmondo.
