Norwegian Guro Strom Solli set a new World record in the 100-meter classic in an on-snow race in Kragero, Norway on Saturday.

The new record is 15.47 and was set in the semifinal in the women’s 100-meter race during the Blindtarmen ski festival. Solli showed strength already in the first round by setting a World record in 16.23, a time she improved a lot in the semifinal. Solli beat Marit Bjorgen in the final.</p>
<p>The longer sprint race was won by Bjorgen ahead of 2005 classic sprint World Champion Emilie Ohrstig of Sweden. Vibeke Skofterud was third.</p>
<p>Trond Iversen won the men’s sprint race in 13.80. He was 0.5 seconds behind Eldar Ronning's World record set last year. Andrus Veerpalu.</p>
<p>The longer sprint competition was won by Tor Arne Hetland ahead of Trond Iversen and Odd-Bjorn Hjelmeset. </p>
