Skiers Setting Records: Anyone Going Fast On Your Team Or In Your Country?

FasterSkierJuly 14, 2005

FasterSkier.com has reported a number of different records or fast times set by a variety of cross-country skiers this spring and summer. We are talking about O2 records, hill climbs, running time-trials, rollerski and cycling races. Lets hear about skiers going fast in races in your area, on your team or in your country!

We have lately reported that US junior skier Morgan Arritola and Glenn Randal set hill-climb records at the recent Western Regional camp in Sun Valley, former US Olympian Dorcas Wonsavage ran fast up Agony Hill in Salt Lake City, Norwegian national team skier Frode Estil crushed an old hill-climb record in Norway, Norway’s Espen Harald Bjerke set a O2 record and was part of a new cycling record and Sweden’s Anders Sodergren broke a record in an 11.9-kilometer running race.

That’s all very exciting but we are sure that more records are broken or impressive achievements are accomplished by juniors, masters and elite cross country skiers every month at regional camps, local races, national team camps in North America and around the cross country globe. Let FasterSkier’s readers hear about it!.

Coaches and team leaders, send us reports, photos and race results. We’ll post it if we feel it met our “exciting or high level performance” criteria.

Note: Lets stick to official races and time-trial with independent/official timing. It’s exciting to hear about people running fast in their own time-trials, like 19-times around the back-yard records or “fastest coach down the hill” after the race, but that will be an other series some day.
