John Caldwell, Tim Caldwell, Warren Shivers, Bill Koch and Martha Rockwell receive first honors

On October 22, 2005, at the Putney School in Putney, Vermont, the Vermont Ski Museum will be inducting into the Vermont Ski Museum Hall of Fame five Nordic skiers of championship proportion and world renown — John Caldwell, Tim Caldwell, Warren Shivers, Bill Koch and Martha Rockwell. Once again Peter Graves will emcee the event, which will include roasts and boasts during cocktails and dinner prior to the induction ceremony.

Later this year the Ski Museum plans to open a long-term Nordic Exhibit. The exhibit will include Biathlon, Nordic Combined and backcountry skiing, and tributes to those who most influenced the sport

With 30 Nordic ski areas and over 885 miles of ski trails in Vermont, this statewide recognition of the influence and attraction of cross country skiing will appeal to thousands of Vermonters and visitors who have embraced this sport.

The Vermont Ski Museum is a non-profit organization. We are always thankful for the support of individuals and businesses interested in helping us to honor and preserve Vermont’s Ski history.
