Green Mountain Valley School offers Nordic Ski Clinics
For Skiers and Coaches at Weston, MA — November 4-5th
Rollerski Race up Appalachian Gap — November 12th

September 27 (Waitsfield, VT): Get a jump on the competition this winter. Before the snow flies, here’s a chance to be coached by one of the best nordic coaches in the United States. Learn how he makes skiers fast enough earn spots on the New England Junior and World Junior special and biathlon World Championships.

The head coach of biathlon and cross-country skiing at the Green Mountain Valley School, in Waitsfield, VT, Jon Arne Enevoldsen served as Head Biathlon Coach at the U.S. Olympic Education Center in Marquette, Michigan, as well as Head Coach for the British, Swiss and Australian Biathlon teams. An accomplished skier himself, Enevoldsen has won the prestigious Norwegian Army Championships six times, is a 15-time champion of Northern Norway, and has been a member of the Norwegian National Team. He holds the highest coaching degree available from the Norwegian Coaching Academy.

On Friday, November 4th, Enevoldsen and the GMVS team will be in Weston, MA, at the Weston Ski Track from 7-9pm, where he will run a clinic for high school skiers (no charge). Saturday, November 5th, 9-12noon pm is a clinic for high school coaches and their assistants at the Weston Ski Track (no charge). The following weekend, Saturday, November 12th, Enevoldsen and the GMVS team will host a 5km classic rollerski time trial up Appalachian Gap. The $10 registration fee includes a GMVS tshirt for the first 20 registrants, prizes for top 3 men and women, and video review of the race back at the GMVS campus, before the awards.

Please, do not bring competition rollerskis.

Day of race registration, 8-9am at John Egan’s Big World restaurant. Start time 10am. Directions — race starts at the corner of route 100 and Route 17 in Waitsfield, VT.

• From Points South – Take Route 89 North to Exit 9 at Middlesex. Take Route 100B South to Route 100 into Waitsfield. Travel past the Mad River Green Shopping Center. Park at John Egan’s restaurant.

• Post Race awards ceremony at Green Mountain Valley School. From Start, go back up 100N 200 yards, take a left onto Bragg Hill. When the paved road bears to the right, travel straight (slight left) onto Moulton Road to the campus, which appears almost immediately on your left. Take second entrance into Doug Parker Sport Center lot. Prize ceremony at the Doug Parker Sports Center. Race phone hotline is 802.279.6331
