She will therefore loose the possibility of fighting for the season’s first World Cup points in the sprint event, says a press release from the Swedish Skifederation.

The Swedish hopes are now moved over to Lina Andersson and Anna Dahlberg. Andersson skied a number of good sprint races last season with victory in Lahti and second places in Drammen and Worlds in Oberstdorf.

Dahlberg captured several third and fourth places in last year’s World Cup. She was also second in the sprint opener in Düsseldorf behind Marit Bjorgen last season.

The Swedish team will not call in a new skier to replace Ohrstig and will therefore only race four women in Düsseldorf.

Jorgen Brink is still struggling with a cold as well and it’s at the moment doubtful that he will start in Düsseldorf

The adjusted Swedish team for Düsseldorf is:

Women:
Lina Andersson, Piteå Elit
Anna Dahlberg, Ã…sarna IK
Ida Ingemarsdotter, Ã…sarna IK
Anna-Karin Strömstedt, Vansbro AIK

Men:
Thobias Fredriksson, Östersunds SK
Peter Larsson, Hudiksvalls IF
Björn Lind, Hudiksvalls IF
Fredrik Östberg, Falun-Borlänge SK
Mikael Östberg, Falun-Borlänge SK
Jörgen Brink, IFK Umeå (if he gets healthy in time).
