XC Skiing Now Leading The WNBC Olympic Poll – But Alpine Is Catching Up

FasterSkierNovember 16, 2005

We want to see US and Canadian Cross Country skiers live on television from the Olympics in Turin, Italy!

Cross country skiers, stand up for your sport, email all your cross skiing friends and have them vote for xc skiing. It only takes two seconds.

Cross country skiing had only 3% and less than 300 votes last week when Fasterskier.com posted the article <“Vote For Cross Country Skiing” encouraging our readers to vote in the WNBC poll of which sports people are most interested in at the 2006 Olympics.

Originally our goal was to reach 15% and second place. Alpine was the dominant leader with 50% of the votes at the time of the FasterSkier posting.

Cross country skiers got the point and voted in overwhelming numbers. Amazingly, X-C recently took the lead with almost 12000(!) votes and over 40% of the total! As of Monday Alpine had been reduced to 34%, but had improved to 35% and closing in on xc skiing's 37% as of Tuesday night.

So lets make a new push: Email the link to this story or the link to all your friends.

We realize that NBC is not going to make multi-million dollar programming decisions based on an internet poll. But it never hurts to drill the point home that there are plenty of people interested in X-C!

VOTE TODAY – it's your right!
